Macaroni Soup Concert with Miss Carole
Get to the park early—this one draws a crowd! Miss Carole’s energy, humor, and interactive music will have kids (and grown-ups!) wiggling, giggling, hopping, and singing along.
About Miss Carole
Carole Stephens—better known as “Miss Carole”—has been the Pied Piper of children’s music in the Chicago area since 1989. Her concerts get everyone moving, smiling, and singing with joy! With clear lyrics, a clean sound, and slower tempos, even the youngest children can follow along and join the fun. Whether she’s jumping into silly songs or encouraging musical play, Carole connects directly with her audience—kids talk back, laugh, and engage from start to finish.
What Others Say
The School Library Journal raves about her song “Sticky Bubble Gum”:
“The Beaver Call will have listeners in stitches… mine this production for many good ideas and fun activities, especially since the liner notes give suggestions for props to use with some of the songs. Parents will find it a treasure for using at home with their preschoolers.”
More Than Music
Miss Carole’s songs are backed by her study of brain research and early childhood development. You’ll find educational value in every note—from color and rhythm recognition to motor skill development—all wrapped in laughter and movement.

From snakes and turtles to lizards of all sizes, this hands-on show introduces children and families to the fascinating world of reptiles. Expert handlers will guide the audience through a safe, engaging, and educational journey filled with fun facts and up-close encounters.
The show emphasizes the role reptiles play in maintaining environmental balance and encourages curiosity about wildlife. Guests of all ages will leave with a greater appreciation for these misunderstood creatures.
Meet Jim
Jim has been passionate about nature since childhood. While others look up at trees or birds, Jim keeps his eyes on the forest floor—studying tracks, scat, and small animals to understand their world. (Yes, he can read poop!)
He attended The Mountain School in Vermont, where he lived and worked on a rural organic farm and studied forestry, self-sufficiency, and survival. As part of his education, he once spent nearly a week alone in the wilderness, surviving with nothing but a tarp, a few bagels, and nature’s offerings.
Jim has worked at Brookfield and Milwaukee Zoos managing large marine exhibits and caring for stingrays, sharks, and horseshoe crabs. He also maintained the massive aquariums at Cabela’s in Hoffman Estates.
With a degree in Recreation Administration and a minor in Biology from Eastern Illinois University, Jim combines science with entertainment—offering a unique, hands-on learning experience for kids and adults alike.
Meet Bill
A true self-taught reptile expert, Bill has spent over 20 years caring for and handling reptiles of all shapes and sizes. He has even bred black throat monitors and ball pythons.
Before joining JG’s Reptile Road Show, Bill worked as assistant manager at a pet store in Des Plaines, where he cared for more than 100 species of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and more. His deep knowledge, love for animals, and calm handling skills make him a crowd favorite at every show.
Together, Jim and Bill bring science, smiles, and slithery surprises to this one-of-a-kind Friday Fun Day!

Jeanie B. Live!
Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, and kick off your morning with an energizing concert from Jeanie B.—a fan favorite the kids love!
Strumming her guitar and bursting with joyful energy, Jeanie B. invites children to sing, dance, laugh, and play along. As a family entertainer and children’s musician, she’s been making music fun for over two decades—performing locally and across the country.
What Makes Her Music Special
Jeanie B. coined the term “edu-tainment” to describe her one-of-a-kind style. Her songs are full of fun, but they’re also sneaky-smart—teaching kids without them even realizing it!
“The wonderful thing about writing music for children and performing for children is that they are the most curious creatures on the planet,” she says. “If you can engage them and keep their interest, you can teach them really anything through song and movement.”
Jeanie B! offers a variety of songs for children, including “I’m A Kid,” “Nose Bubbles,” “Gene Pool,” “I Am A Washing Machine,” “Superhero,” and “Five Fingers.” Visit her website for a listen.
